July 10, 2007 Alex Woodie
A problem detecting iSeries network captures in the Wireshark network sniffer product has been fixed, according to the open source Wireshark group. In 2006, users reported to Wireshark that there was a problem using Wireshark with iSeries “wiretaps.” Wireshark, which runs on Windows and Linux machines, would sometimes crash when reading iSeries capture files. The software, which is free, supports practically all network protocols in use, including, apparently, protocols used by the System i.
