Drummond Certifies Five Products for AS1 Interop

Five B2B software products from three vendors have passed the most recent tests by Drummond Group for interoperability using the AS1 protocol. Companies sending and receiving EDI data over e-mail using AS1 can rest assured that products from Axway, Inovis, and nuBridges are certified for compatibility. Drummond Group conducts nearly a dozen tests a year to ensure B2B software vendors’ products don’t muck up the payload during transmission via various protocols, including AS1, AS2, AS3, ebXML, RosettaNet, and GDSN (global data synchronization network). Software vendors pay Drummond to test and certify their software, and supply chain participants use the certifications to help with their software purchasing decisions. The latest AS1 test was conducted this spring. AS1 enables users to send EDI documents, such as X12 and EDIFACT, or XML data over the simple mail transport protocol (SMTP), and is an increasingly popular alterative to legacy EDI communication methods. Five products passed Drummond’s rounds of tests and were awarded certifications of interoperability. These include versions 5.6 and 6.11 of Axway’s Synchrony software, Inovis BizManager version 3.1, and nuBridges’ Exchange i version 3.2 (which runs exclusively on the i OS) and Exchange C.S. version 3.4. Kim Addington, the chief marketing officer for nuBridges (and formerly in the marketing department at Seagull Software), says the Drummond certification was important to assure customers of what they are buying. “We’ve recently re-branded the former iSoft Commerce Suite and Trailblazer midrange products into modules that fit under our nuBridges Exchange suite of B2B integration solutions,” Addington says. “Having our B2B integration products Drummond Certified is especially important to our customers who are seeking the highest assurances of security and interoperability.”
