Tell IBM All About Your Power Systems Iron
March 26, 2012 Timothy Prickett Morgan
We spend a lot of time here at IT Jungle poking around looking for interesting things to tell you about that relate either directly or obliquely to the IBM i platform. I stumbled across an interesting item the other day I wanted to make you aware of. I am not sure how long IBM has been doing this, but the company is soliciting customers who use its Power Systems midrange servers and zEnterprise mainframe servers to have their voices heard and write a review for the iron that they use. IBM is also soliciting reviews for its Storwize V7000, DS8000, and XIV disk storage products and its TS3310 tape libraries. Obviously IBM is looking for happy customers and intelligence about what they think about its products, but based on the questions that IBM is asking, it is also looking for customer references that it can use to help persuade customers not familiar with IBM iron to make the jump. Whatever makes Power Systems stronger makes IBM i last longer. So with that in mind, if you like what you use, you should spend a few minutes and do a review. And if you don’t like your Power Systems machine, this is also a good way for your voice to be heard by Big Blue as you bend its ear.
