A Saudi Arabian Caterpillar dealer will implement Infor M3 on the IBM i server platform to automate its business processes, Infor announced recently. The two-year roll-out of M3 for Equipment will begin shortly for Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery Co. and related companies. Zahid will implement several M3 for Equipment modules, including supply chain execution, warehouse mobility, sales management, and financial accounting. The solution will be implemented by Accentia Middle East, Infor’s M3 partner in the region. The new software is expected to help smooth the flow of information and business processes among the company’s various departments at 40 sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “Our business divisions have seen major growth over the last four years. But our legacy systems proved too difficult to maintain and cope with the continuously changing and growing requirements coming both from our suppliers and our internal and external customers,” states Zahid Group’s ERP director Joseph Hrawi. “We found in the M3, Infor, and Accentia combination a best fit for a heavy equipment dealer and power rental company like ours.” The software will be used by three divisions of Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery Co. (Construction Machinery, Commercial Vehicles and Rental), as well as several subsidiaries, including Arabian Vehicles and Trucks Industry, TAMGO, Zahid Industries Ltd., and Al Taaqa Alternative Solutions Ltd. The company’s Volvo and Renault Truck dealer business is also part of the group. Zahid has been an AS/400 shop, like most Caterpillar dealers around the world. Most M3 implementations are done on Power Systems hardware running IBM i.
