Infor has a new partner working on its equipment cloud: NTT Data, a Japanese IT services firm with operations around the globe. The company recently signed on as the third managed service provider (MSP) to host the cloud version of the M3 application tailored specifically to companies in the heavy equipment business. Infor launched its Equipment Cloud about six months ago to provide customers with another option for running the M3 application. IBM and Velocity Technology Solutions were the original MSPs selected to run the Equipment Cloud. With the addition of NTT Data, customers have another option for running Infor’s software as a service (SaaS) offering. According to Mike Sarantopoulos, senior vice president of cloud advisory services at NTT DATA, the cloud solution will give customers a combination of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS). “In addition, NTT DATA cloud lifecycle services supports the full service continuum for Infor customers, including consulting, migration, and management services,” Sarantopoulos adds. Infor is particularly eager to recruit Caterpillar dealers to its Equipment Cloud. Infor is the founding member of the Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council, and has sold M3 to several CAT dealers, including Finning, PON, Bangla Cat, and Zahid Tractor and Heavy Machinery Company.
