IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 24, Number 48

To start right off, there is a security vulnerability in the Hardware Management Console, so those of you who have larger Power Systems that have their logical partitions managed by this out-of-band controller had better listen up. Specifically, check out Security Bulletin: Vulnerability in Bind (CVE-2021-25219) affects Power HMC, which you can read about more here.

The fixes for this security vulnerability are as follows:

As we reported in the November 28 issue, IBM Electronic Fix Distribution / IBM Fix Central systems will end support for unencrypted fix downloads on February 15, 2023. You can read IBM’s statement on this here.

And just recently, we have come to find this bug: SOAP Web Services Fail in Integrated Web Services with Prefix Error After Applying Oct 2022 IBM i HTTP Group PTF Level. You can read about it at this link, and here are the HTTP Group PTF levels that introduce this issue:

Current Fix Status: 11/21/2022 – IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty development is currently investigating the issue and developing a fix. See link for details!
