VAULT400 Called On to Protect Distributor

Berjé, a New Jersey-based distributor of aromatic chemicals, has selected United Computer Group‘s online backup solution, VAULT400, to protect the data residing in its IBM i ERP and WMS systems, UCG announced last week. Berjé is a global distributor of essential oils and aromatic chemicals to companies in the food, fragrance, and pharmaceutical industries. The company maintains more than 3,000 items in inventory in three distribution centers, located in New Jersey, Illinois, and California. In support of Berjé’s unique business are IBM i applications from VAI, including a manufacturing-focused ERP system installed in 1997 and a WMS package installed in 2005. These IBM i applications are critical to helping Berjé maintain efficiency in warehousing operations, as well as serving its base of large, multi-national customers. Superstorm Sandy and its aftermath last fall were potent reminders of the need to protect business systems. From its headquarters in Carteret, just south of the New York state line, Berjé had a front row seat to the disaster that unfolded. Berjé’s selection of VAULT400 should provide an element of protection against the types of business outages that disasters can cause. UCG’s VAULT400 offering is based on the Evault online backup solution. VAULT400 agents installed on Berjé’s systems replicate data to UCG’s cloud storage repository, which are then in turn replicated to other UCG data centers to provide a third-level of protection. In addition to IBM i data, VAULT400 can protect other systems, including Windows, Linux, VMWare, and Unix systems. For more information please see www.vault400.com.
