Symtrax Seals Deal with Attractive Pricing

A more attractive pricing model was one of the key reasons the Symtrax electronic forms package was selected by Andrews Sykes Hire, an English company that rents heaters, air conditioners, and other equipment manufactured by its parent company, according to a recent Symtrax case study. MapForm is an electronic document management system that allows users to move away from preprinted forms and print business output on standard laser printers. The software works by applying document overlays to output from a variety of systems, including i5/OS servers, and then either distributing the final document via e-mail or sending it to a network printer. With 150 printers to support at Andrews Sykes Hire, paying for an electronic forms package on a per-printer basis would be very expensive, says Roger Pearson, a business systems manager with the company. However, because MapForm is priced based on the number of hosts it’s connected to, it can save customers money. “The pricing model was more competitive, that was a big difference for us,” Pearson says. Since the software was implemented, Andrews Sykes Hire has used MapForm to automate the generation of all sorts of documents, including invoices, statements, delivery notes, collection notes, picking notes, quotations, debt letters, and others. The company has also started to distribute forms using e-mail and fax, which further reduces the company’s costs.
