Krengel Adds Credit Card Processing to RPG-XML Suite

Developers who write XML-based Web service programs for IBM i using Krengel Technology‘s RPG-XML Suite now have an easy way to add credit card processing to their apps. The company recently announced that the suite now contains an application plug-in that processes credit card transactions via the Cybersource network. Krengel’s flagship product, the RPG-XML Suite, is a collection of RPG service programs and APIs that make it easy for IBM i shops to expose their existing RPG apps as an XML-based Web service, and also to allow their existing RPG apps to consume third-party Web services. The software runs entirely on the IBM i server, and doesn’t require any additional software, such as IBM WebSphere. With the new Cybersource plug-in, Krengel is making it easy to add a payment transaction system onto an ecommerce application developed with RPG-XML suite. The plug-in enables IBM i shops to process credit card transactions, while maintaining compliance with industry requirements and protecting its liability. The Cybersource plug-in handles all aspects of credit card transactions, including authorizing transactions, capturing transactions, reversing authorizations, and issuing credit. The software also generates reports for the merchant, including payment batch detail reports and transaction exception detail reports. This is the second new credit card product that Krengel has launched recently. Last May, the company launched Krengel Authorize, an extension to the RPG-XML Suite that uses the Authorize.net payment gateway. Authorize.net is owned by Cybersource, which in turn is owned by Visa.
