Infor Hooks ERP Data to Salesforce.com

Infor last week unveiled Inforce Everywhere, a new solution that enables customers to move their on-premise ERP data into cloud-based CRM systems hosted by Salesforce.com. Infor created Inforce Everywhere to simplify data integration tasks for customers. Data updated by their ERP systems will be automatically available in their CRM implementations at Salesforce.com, thereby eliminating the need to built point-to-point integration flows. Another benefit is this: Any additional applications that an Infor customer runs on Salesforce.com’s platform will also have access to the data originating in the ERP system. There are a plethora of social media and mobile applications available on the Salesforce.com platform, which Infor customers now have better access to. Ron Huddleston, senior vice president of ISVs and the channel for Salesforce.com, says the work by Infor is a good example of “harnessing the power of the social enterprise. Inforce Everywhere taps into the social, mobile, and open capabilities of Force.com and Chatter to deliver unmatched collaboration and communication across the enterprise,” Huddleston says in a press release. Inforce Everywhere was built with a combination technologies, including force.com, the hosted application platform developed by Salesforce.com, and ION, the Java-based enterprise service bus (ESB). ION is critical to integrating Infor ERP systems with other products. Inforce Everywhere is only available for three ERP suites, including Infor10 ERP Enterprise (LN), Infor10 Distribution iBusiness (A+) and Infor10 Distribution Business (SX.e). Integration with additional ERP applications is planned over the next year, the company says.
