RJS Expands Connectivity Options for Digital Signature Software

RJS Software Systems last week unveiled a new release of SignHere, a piece of software that applies captured signatures to digital documents. SignHere version 1.3.3 brings several enhancements, including integration with the signature capture components of VeriFone point of sale (POS) devices, one-click integration to Microsoft Word and Excel, and “print-to-sign” capability from any Windows application. RJS introduced SignHere a year-and-a-half ago to streamline the flow of digital documents, speed up the approval process, and minimize wasteful printing. When an invoice, bill of lading, or other document in digital form requires a signature, the user can use SignHere to apply a digitally captured version of a signature to the document. This prevents the user from needing to print the document, sign it, and then scan it. SignHere is typically used with signature capture devices from Topaz Systems, digital pens from Anoto, or Windows tablets and PCs. Support for the signature capture component of VeriFone POS devices with SignHere version 1.3.3 will be of particular value in retail and hospitality environments, the Burnsville, Minnesota, company says. This release also brings one-click access to Word and Excel, which gives SignHere users the capability to sign documents within those programs. This streamlines the process by eliminating the need to work within SignHere. The print-to-sign capability allows users to initiate the signing process from any Windows application. Other new features include the capability to display customized HTML billboard messages on Windows tablet and touch screen PC devices. “This is a particularly useful marketing tool for customers in the hospitality space, where the software is frequently used to streamline hotel check-in and key card applications,” the company says. SignHere works with documents generated by IBM i, Windows, and Linux applications. The software also works with document and content management systems, such as Microsoft SharePoint or RJS’ own WebDocs and iForms software. SignHere generates signed documents in PDF and TIFF formats. The software can apply signatures to multiple documents simultaneously, and also applies timestamps or notes.
