Symtrax Delivers New Release of Compleo Layout

Symtrax last week unveiled the second major release of Compleo Layout, a Windows-based forms overlay design tool designed to make it easier for non-technical users to modernize the documents generated by ERP systems. The new release, version 4.11, adds support for barcodes, among other new features. Compleo Layout, which Symtrax announced last August and delivered in December, is the newest component of the Compleo suite, a soup-to-nuts electronic document management solution designed to work with business applications running on IBM i and other platforms. The software gives users a WYSIWYG interface for sprucing up the output of ERP systems, including adding images and graphics to the text output. Users can keep the original formatting if they like, or even inject data from other applications into a document by querying external databases. No programming or formal graphical design experience is needed to use the product, Symtrax says. Version 4.11 gives users more options, such as the capability to add 2D barcodes. Symtrax says the new release also allows users to “define relative position of document elements to handle dynamic spool content,” which should keep the elements of an automatically generated form from being poorly rendered. This release also brings enhancements in the areas of repetitive formatting support for tables and formatting conditions. Symtrax CEO Bernard Aldebert said Compleo Layout has “greatly evolved” since its first release. “Customers can now add 1D or 2D barcodes depending on their business needs along with [terms and conditions] or health and safety instructions to purchase orders and invoice,” he states in a press release.
