The Drummond Group recently published the test results from its first quarter AS2 interoperability testing. Twenty-four products from 18 companies completed the latest round of testing, which included a new test designed to support the use of AS2 in the banking and financial services industry. The latest round of certification tests included many familiar names in the B2B business, including Axway, Boomi Software, BridgeGate International, Bridgeware, Cleo Communications, Click Commerce, The Descartes Systems Group, EDS, EXTOL International, GXS, IBM, Inovis, /n software, nuBridges, SEEBURGER, Sterling Commerce, TIBCO Software, and Tumbleweed Communications. The latest round included a new optional profile, called Filename Preservation, that vendors could opt to have Drummond perform on their product. Twelve vendors certified their implementation of filename preservation to ensure interoperability with other AS2 products and conformity to standards. The new filename preservation option was applauded by the Financial Services Technology Consortium, a group that fosters open technology standards in the financial services industry. “FSTC recognized the need within the financial industry to preserve original filenames in the exchange of documents when using AS2,” says John Fricke, FSTC’s chief of staff. “We see great value in having filename preservation included in the AS2 interoperability certification by Drummond Group.” Two other optional tests were conducted during the latest round, including a test to determine if products could successfully transfer multiple attachments, and the certificate exchange messaging test, which determines whether products can correctly implement the automation of digital certificates. Only three companies–Inovis, Cleo Communications, and The Descartes Systems Group–elected to try all three tests. Inovis says that shows its dedication to interoperability. “There is a recognized need for businesses to maintain rich auditing capabilities for compliance in the exchange of documents using certified standards,” says Steve Cochran, Inovis Senior Vice President of Engineering and Infrastructure. “Inovis continues to support the emerging requirements of complex, global business communities.” RELATED STORIES Latest Round of AS2 Certifications Released by Drummond Drummond Group Issues Latest Round of AS2 Certs New Batch of AS2 Product Certifications On Tap from eBusinessReady and Drummond Group
