United Computer Group has been on a roll lately with its Vault400 online backup and disaster recovery solution. In the past couple of weeks, the company has announced two new customers, including Tredit Tire & Wheel Company and the city of College Park, Maryland. Tredit Tire & Wheel Company is a large distributor of trailer tires and wheels to trailer manufacturers throughout the country. The Elkhart, Indiana-based company uses the Infor10 Distribution Enterprise i (A+) ERP software from Infor to manage operations at six locations around the U.S. The company purchased the Vault400 backup and DR service from UCG to provide an extra level of disaster preparedness for its business. The company’s data is transmitted nightly via the Vault400 software (powered by EVault), where it’s stored on UCG’s Power7 servers. In the event of a disaster, UCG commits to having Tredit’s data and applications up and running within 24 hours. The city of College Park, meanwhile, is also now using Vault400’s online backup solution. In addition to holding the city’s encrypted data, UCG’s 72-hour quick-ship program guarantees College Park that it will receive a replacement server in three days or less following a disaster declaration. The city is also taking advantage of Vault400 Reports, the new Web-based interface that gives customers access to details about their backup environments, including how much storage the backups are consuming.
