Attunity Updates CDC Software for SQL Server

Attunity last week unveiled a new release of its CDC Suite for SSIS, a version of its change data capture (CDC) technology that closely integrates with Microsoft‘s SQL Server Integration Services product. The new release brings data in from outside sources much more quickly than previous releases, the vendor says. CDC Suite for SSIS is a special version of Attunity’s CDC software that’s designed to be used for SQL Server-based business intelligence implementations. The CDC Suite uses log-based CDC connectors that Attunity has developed for many platforms, including DB2/400, DB2 for LUW (Linux, Unix, and Windows), the Oracle database, DB2 and VSAM for mainframe, and many others. Attunity says the new release of the CDC Suite for SSIS features enhancements in many areas, including “zero footprint” replication of SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2 LUW; a 40 percent increase in throughput of CDC on Oracle’s database; and a 50 percent increase in the number of supported data sources (it now supports 12, including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 LUW, DB2/400, DB2 on zSeries, VSAM on zSeries, IMS on zSeries, Adabas on zSeries, RMS on Hewlett-Packard OpenVMS, Enscribe on HP NonStop, and SQL/MP on HP NonStop). Shimon Alon, Attunity’s CEO, says his software can help customers get access to real-time business information. “We will continue to deliver leading real-time solutions for the large SQL Server market, leveraging our strategic relationship with Microsoft, and helping more and more customers to benefit from the value of real-time information,” he states in a press release.
