Magic Builds Out Partner Network in Europe

As this newsletter reported a month ago, revenues and profits for Magic Software were both up sharply in the second quarter, with sales up 58 percent, to $21.5 million, and net income more than doubled to $3.8 million. And part of that success has come through an expanded reseller channel for the company’s iBOLT and uniPaaS application development tools. The company said that in the second quarter it added ViCi Consulting in the Netherlands, Osiatis in France, Wizrom Software in Romania, and Connect Distribution in Poland to its partner rolls. In July, Magic Software said that it had expanded into Greece, with a partnership with Relational SA, which is a software provider that sells products in the banking, government, retail, and telecommunication sectors in southern and central Europe. Relational SA is a big Sybase partner, and of course Sybase, which makes its Application Server Enterprise relational database and PowerBuilder development tools, was just eaten by German application software giant SAP. More recently, Magic Software cast the partner net a little further to the west, and hauled in four partners in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Nexus451, of Ireland, is going to be peddling the iBOLT for Salesforce.com integration tools to help small and medium businesses integrate the online CRM software with their back-end midrange applications. Another company called SMB Group is tapping the iBOLT for SAP tools to launch a hosted service called SmartCX to link out SAP suites with partners and to Microsoft desktop applications. Admiral Technology is partnering with Magic Software to provide consulting services to SMBs in the British Isles for customers who want to integrate JD Edwards suites with Salesforce.com, and is using iBOLT tools as the backbone for its service engagements. And finally, Forza Consulting, of the Netherlands, will be using iBOLT to extend JDE World and OneWorld suites in the United Kingdom. RELATED STORIES A Magic Rebound for Software Maker?
